♡ WHO IS SHE? ♡
I’m Shay and I’m an indigenous visual artist based in Treaty 1 territory Canada.
I create dreamy, mystical, surreal artworks inspired by nature and the universe. I am self taught and inspired by the energies of the universe. I focus on portrait studies and character design. Colour plays a huge role in creating that ethereal and dreamlike feeling in my art.
I enjoy creating surreal imaginary worlds for people to get lost in. I find the flow of creating to be meditative, grounding, healing and inspiring.
I create with many mediums: ink, acrylic, gouache and watercolour paint. I also create and experiment with other medium such as jewellery making, tee shirt and clothing designs, thread art, clay, digital art/graphic design, murals and collages.
I studied fine arts in high school and attended Red River College for Graphic Design, studying colour theory, art history, perspective and from life drawings.

When I’m not creating art you can catch me hanging out with my kitty cosmo, hiking amongst the trees, listening to music, skateboarding or foraging mushrooms.
